FIDE & NZCF Rated event
The October Chessroad Tournament is FIDE and NZCF rated. When registering, please provide your FIDE ID and/or NZCF ID (if applicable). New players who do not yet have a FIDE or NZCF ID must provide the following details in the notes field at Checkout (ref FAQ Page):

As this is a FIDE/NZCF-rated event, the applicable FIDE and NZCF levy fees are included in the tournament entry fee.
Chessroad Tournament is organised for Juniors & Adults of all levels who are beginners, Intermediate or advanced players. Competitors aged over 20 years qualify for prizes in the Adults category.
This tournament is organised to improve Juniors chess knowledge and to unleash the chess skills for over the board tournaments, giving the opportunity to play with internal and external players to gain NZCF and FIDE rating where applicable. Register for Chessroad Tournament 2026 and compete for the monthly Chessroad Champion Trophy.
Chessroad Tournament is held monthly and as advertised.

Timing 2.30pm to 5.00pm (Games start at 2.30pm and after the players meeting)

at Glenfield Community Centre
96 Bentley Avenue, Glenfield, Auckland
Entry + Playing Fee: $40 (FIDE/NZCF levy fee included)

Prize review: As this is the first NZCF/FIDE-rated Chessroad Tournament, the cash prize fund will be reviewed based on the number of entries received. If registrations exceed expectations, the Organiser may increase the cash prize pool or introduce additional prize categories. Any updates to the prize structure will be announced at the time of prize ceremony.

Multiple Prizes and Tiebreaks: Players may not win more than one prize except the Champion Trophy in a tournament – the highest cash prize will be paid and other prizes will be passed down to the next highest-placed player. Cash prizes will be shared by eligible players on the same score and ties will not be broken.
- TieBreak: will apply for Medal & Trophy winners in the Under 8 age category, Best Girl and Chessroad Champion
- Lucky Dip Prizes: This will based on the entries

Prize money will be paid to the players bank account after the event and on receipt of bank account details.
- Adult category - Individuals aged over 20 years qualify for prizes in the Adult category. Additional prizes will be based on the entries. Please note we have limited seats for participants in this category.
- Under 8 age category players qualify for prize money if they are tournament winners
