The Epic Battle at the 45th Chess Olympiad 2024 Budapest

Hungary - Budapest is hosting the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad 2024.

In the Open category there are 196 Teams, and 188 Teams in the Women's Category representing their country at the Chess Olympiad. 

As there are 11 rounds to play at the Olympiad, a team of 4 players will play each round against the paired country.  

New Zealand has a team  in the Open and Women's Category having 5 players in each category to play the 11 rounds.

Due to the long tournament, a team of 4 players will play each round allowing one player to rest in between rounds.

The standing after Round 6, New Zealand Open Team at 72nd position from 77 initial standing, and Women's Team at 61st position from 74th initial standing.
