In the Open category after intense matches and fierce competition, GM Magnus Carlsen outmaneuvered his opponents and demonstrated why he is considered one of the greatest chess players of all time. His ability to anticipate his opponents' moves and adapt his strategy on the fly set him apart from the competition.
A highlight of the tournament was the intense match between GM Magnus Carlsen and GM Gukesh Dommaraju, the current World Champion, where Magnus made a crucial mistake, resulting in a loss of his advantage midway through. With additional rounds, he earned sufficient points to claim the title on the final day, securing a draw in the last round and ending with 16 points.
