Jane Street sponsors the 2025 NZ Women's Chess Championship!

Jane Street, a quantitative trading firm with offices worldwide have come on board to sponsor the 2025 NZ Women's Chess Championship.

The partnership with Jane Street, brings a new level of support to the 2025 NZ Women's Chess Championship.  This will enable a diverse range of female participants, both from local and international communities, to partake in this event. 

NZ Women's Championship is a long standing event. The Mabel Abbott Trophy is awarded to the New Zealand winner or the top scorer of the NZ Women's Championship.  The Abbott family donated the trophy to the first women's champion. 

Furthermore, this prestigious opportunity allows the New Zealand champion to represent at the Chess Olympiad for New Zealand Women's Team in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, scheduled for 2026.
