FIFA WORLD CUP 2026: Stunning first goal from All Whites, but Egypt strikes three to win

Our Thoughts...

After the All Whites secured a draw in their opening match, fans were eager to watch their home team take on Egypt in what promised to be another exciting World Cup clash.

As supporters settled in to watch, the All Whites seized their opportunity and scored the opening goal of the match in the first half, thanks to Finn Surman. They delivered a strong performance, showing determination in both defence and attack. However, a few lapses allowed Egypt to find their way back into the game in the second half of the game.

Egypt equalised through Mo Salah, whose goal shifted the momentum in his team's favour. Buoyed by renewed confidence, Egypt went on to score two more goals and maintained their advantage until the final whistle, securing a historic World Cup victory.

With this win, Egypt moves to the top of the pool and most likely a place in the next stage of the tournament

The All Whites' upcoming match against Belgium promises to be another thrilling encounter, with Kiwi fans hopeful that their team can bounce back and deliver a strong performance.

As we strive to maintain a balance between soccer and chess, one of our goals in the coming days or months is to connect with, follow, or learn more about Egypt chess player from afar. We look forward to exploring Egypt's chess culture while continuing to support the national football team on the world stage.

On a personal front, alongside my passion for chess, football continues to be a major interest, particularly during the FIFA World Cup, a passion that has been nurtured through my family.
