FIFA WORLD CUP 2026: Messi Leads Argentina into the Final; Kane and England Set for Third-Place Playoff

Our thoughts...

When football's biggest nations collide, there are no easy results to accept. Whether it's Argentina versus England or France versus Spain or even if it was Portugal or Brazil, fans around the world are left divided, passionately backing their favourite teams.

Today's semifinal was another unforgettable chapter as Lionel Messi's Argentina faced Harry Kane's England in a blockbuster showdown. Both sides left everything on the pitch in a match filled with intensity, determination, and world-class football.

England struck first to take the lead in the second halftime, putting Argentina under immense pressure. However, the South American champions responded with resilience and composure soon after, finding the equaliser before producing the decisive goal in 90th minute. The late strike left England with virtually no opportunity to mount a comeback, sealing a dramatic 2–1 victory for Argentina.

With the win, Argentina book their place in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final, setting up a mouth-watering clash between two footballing continents. Europe's Spain and South America's Argentina will meet on Monday, 20 July 2026, in what promises to be a spectacular finale to the tournament.
