FIFA World Cup 2026: Kiwi Boys, the All Whites Give It Their All!

The All Whites delivered a solid performance in their opening match against Iran at the FIFA World Cup 2026, showing that New Zealanders are passionate about football as well as the nation's dominant sport, rugby.

The Kiwi side gave everything on the field, taking an early lead with a goal in the 7th minute and immediately putting pressure on the Iranian team. After the early breakthrough, Iran responded with a series of strong attacking moves and eventually found the equaliser. The match remained fiercely contested throughout and ultimately ended in an entertaining 2–2 draw, leaving Kiwi fans proud and satisfied with the All Whites' performance on the world stage.

It was wonderful to witness the All Whites' determination, teamwork, and resilience. Eli starred with two goals, supported by an outstanding team effort from his teammates. With confidence from this encouraging first match, we wish the All Whites every success as they continue their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign.

On a personal front, alongside my passion for chess, football continues to be a major interest, particularly during the FIFA World Cup, a passion that has been nurtured through my family.
