FIFA WORLD CUP 2026: Hat-Trick Hero Lionel Messi Leads Argentina to a 3–0 Win

Our Thoughts...

The first hat-trick of the FIFA World Cup 2026 was delivered by Lionel Messi, who inspired Argentina to a convincing 3–0 victory over Algeria in their opening match.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Messi's career is his longevity at the highest level. Having appeared in six different FIFA World Cups since 2006, he has accumulated an impressive goal tally on football's biggest stage, with fans around the world continuing to admire his skill, vision, and goal-scoring ability. Watching Messi perform remains a special experience for football supporters everywhere.

Meanwhile, Argentina's rising chess sensation Faustino Oro—often referred to as the "Messi of Chess"—will no doubt be delighted to see his sporting idol produce such a memorable performance for his country. At just 12 years old, Oro made history by becoming one of the youngest grandmasters in chess.

Algeria struggled to cope with Argentina's intensity, as the South American side excelled in both attack and defence throughout the match. Argentina controlled the game from start to finish and fully deserved the victory.

We wish both teams the very best in their upcoming World Cup matches and look forward to more exciting football as the tournament progresses.

On a personal front, alongside my passion for chess, football continues to be a major interest, particularly during the FIFA World Cup, a passion that has been nurtured through my family.
