FIDE Grand Swiss Open & Women's Winners 2025 !

Congratulations to FIDE Grand Swiss 2025 champions - GM Anish Giri of Nedetherlands, winner of the Open Grand Swiss 2025; and GM Vaishali Rameshbabhu, champion of the Women's Grand Swiss 2025.

The FIDE Grand Swiss Open saw a fierce competition among the best chess players in the world.

GM Anish Giri demonstrated exceptional skill in securing victory in the competitive Open section of the 11 round double event. GM Anish wasn't a favourite from the start with multiple draws in the first half of the event. Given the competitive nature of the event and the comparable skill levels of the players, securing a victory in any match was seen as an added bonus.

GM Anish Giri and GM Hans Niemann participated in a pivotal game, with Giri emerging victorious in a Bishop endgame, obtaining the necessary advantage for a triumphant result and clinching the championship.

In the Women's category, GM Vaishali had a strong performance throughout the tournament with just one loss in the 8th round. The final game of the day concluded in a draw, allowing her to secure the Championship.

Both champions of the Open and Women's divisions ended the competition with a final score of 8 out of 11 matches. They also secured a place in the Candidates 2026 and emerged victorious in the Grand Swiss 2025 event hosted in Smarkhand, Uzbekistan!

The FIDE Grand Swiss Open & Women's Winners 2025 has once again showcased the incredible talent and strategic prowess of the world's top chess players.

Congratulations to all the winners of the Grand Swiss 2025 in the Open and Women's category.
