19 year Uzbek GM Javokhir Sindarov winner of the FIDE World Cup 2025!

FIDE World Cup 2025 concludes after nearly a month of chess matches in Goa, India. The event commenced with 206 participants in a knockout structure. Noteworthy contenders and elite players failed to advance, with the exception of Wei Yi from China.
GM Javokhir Sindarov, a 19-year-old from Uzbekistan, energetically focuses on winning the FIDE World Cup 2025 to take home the trophy, medal, prize fund and a spot at the Candidates. India proves beneficial for Sindarov as he secured his third prize and previously achieved the Under 7 Asian Junior Championship and the Chess Olympiad Team Gold medal in Chennai.
GM Wei Yi of China and GM Andrey Espinko representing FIDE takes the 2nd and 3rd spots respectively.
Besides the prize fund, trophy, all 3 winners have qualified to play in the Candidates where the the winner of the Candidates will play against the current World Champion GM Gukesh Dommaraju of India.
